What is the difference between 3D ultrasound and 4D ultrasound?
3D is a still photo while 4D adds the dimension of watching your baby in real time.
Is 3D and 4D ultrasound safe for me and my baby?
YES! Ultrasounds are a tool used in the medical profession to detect abnormalities and possible complications. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years and there have been no studies that link side effects from its proper use. We at Imaging Baby strictly adhere to the FDA’s standards.
When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?
Ultrasounds of our babies are special anytime, however, 13-23 weeks are a great time to get that amazing profile shot and see him/her and hear that beautiful heartbeat. At 24-34 weeks we can now get those amazing 4D face pictures.
How good are you at determining the sex of the baby?
At just 8 weeks we can offer you the blood test to determine the sex within just 1 day for Next day service or 2-4 days with our standard service. Using ultrasound technology, we must wait for 15 weeks for the best accuracy. The blood test is 99.9% accurate when drawn by a clinical provider.
How can I be sure to get the best possible 3D/4D pictures?
Water! Adequate water intake the week leading up to the scan will ensure the most amount of amniotic fluid to help keep baby from snuggling with the placenta and/or uterine wall. It is also important to refrain from the sugar cravings that can cause the amniotic fluid from being cloudy.
Will I always get great images of my baby?
It is important to remember each body and each baby are unique in their presentation. Sometimes babies are angled towards the spine and this cannot be helped. We have techniques that will encourage baby to change position but if baby remains shy, we will have you back free of charge to make sure we get you the best experience possible here at Imaging Baby.
